Ukraine has fulfilled the requirements of the European Football Association in its preparations for hosting the final part of the 2012 European Football Championship, Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov emphasized during a briefing in Kyiv. He reminded that all European Championship stadiums have been handed over to UEFA administration, and serious football battles are expected. “The Olympic NSC was handed over under UEFA supervision on 11 May. Besides this, other stadiums have been passed into UEFA’s management: the ones in Lviv, Kharkiv and Donetsk,” the vice prime minister said.

According to him, airports preparation is at the final stage at the same time. Unveiling of the new Terminal D in Boryspil on 28 May will be the final chord. “Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will inaugurate the Terminal D in the Boryspil Airport on 28 May. Its capacities enable us to forsake the remaining air terminals. The state has provided funding for a new runway in Kharkiv, and construction of a new terminal has been funded by a private investor,” Borys Kolesnikov emphasized.

He has added that, besides stadiums and airports, the hotel sector will also approach Euro-2012 with full preparedness.
