The total prize money of the final part of Euro-2012 will be increased by 12 million Euros compared to the 2008 tournament and will equal 196 million Euros in European currency. This decision was taken during the UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Nyon, reputable Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Each participant of the tournament will earn 8 million Euros (7.5 million at Euro-2008); teams will get 2 million Euros each for qualifying from the group and 3 million each for reaching the semi-final. Each finalist of the championship will get 4.5 million Euros, and the winner of the decisive match will get 7.5 million Euros. Teams will get a million Euros for each victory at the group stage, while the sum for a draw will be twice less. It is not difficult to calculate that maximal earning of the winner of the championship will reach 23.5 million Euros.
