Euro to be broadcast to billion fans

One-fifth of the planet’s population will watch Euro-2012 matches. According to tournament organizers’ forecasts, one billion fans from the around the whole world will follow the tournament. This is why active preparation for organization of TV broadcasts from the host cities is currently under way in Poland’s capital where the official broadcasting centre of the continental tournament will be located. According to UEFA requirements, Telekomunikacja Polska is due to secure approximately 2х70 Gbit/sec data communication speed from Polish stadiums and 2х140 Gbit/sec between Poland and Ukraine. This is related to the fact that broadcasts of the matches are planned to be supported in HD quality: around 20 HD cameras and 12 SD ones will operate during each match. The official Euro-2012 broadcasting centre will be located at the Expo XXI International Centre in Warsaw.
